BMX Open: Brought to you by Nike 6.0

This just in: Exciting news from our BMX division: The Chicago stop of the 2009 Dew Tour, officially dubbed the Nike 6.0 BMX Open, is only a few days away! On June 26 and 27, Chi-Town will host the first-ever BMX-only Dew Tour, and Nike 6.0 is the headline sponsor. This, dear friends, is not to be missed!
As the chief sponsor, 6.0 is stepping up the game by introducing a “true street competition.” Held in addition to the traditional park, vert and dirt disciplines judged solely on the riding, this street event is a half-video, half-jam competition between three teams of three riders chosen by team captains. The teams will be judged both by scores from a jam session held on June 26 and a video part created prior to the jam. Nike 6.0 powerhouse Garrett Reynolds joins Van Homan and Sean Sexton as team captains (all chosen because of their respectable X Games 14 podium finishes), and Reynolds picked fellow 6.0 rider Dennis Enarson as one of his right-hand men. We expect to see some insane street happenings–both on film and in the jam!
But wait that ain’t all. In celebration of the event, Chicago will be thick with 6.0-ness. We’re taking over the Chicago NikeTown, and keep an eye out for our ads that’ve been pasted on city trains around town! At the competition proper, the Nike 6.0 Yurt will be the spot to eyeball all our latest products and get some free schwag and even an autograph from your favorite 6.0 team rider.
Last but not least, we’ll also be breaking a brand new 3-D animation technology called Augmented Reality. Yep, watch Mike Spinner make his magic in three dimensions, simply by holding his ad (featured on the back of the Dew Tour handbook) in front of a computer camera at the 6.0 Yurt (you can also peep it at home in front of your own computer camera).
So yeah, the Nike 6.0 BMX Open–it’s a bunch of amazing stuff packed into one sizzling summer weekend, so don’t sleep on it, son!
