Ryan Dungey - Moto
 |
Ryan Dungey became one of the first motocross riders to go straight to a factory team from the amateur ranks (think: skipping high school and going directly to college) His philosophy is simple: “I just put my time in, worked hard every day. All I did was live, eat, and sleep motocross and that’s all I’ve wanted all my life, is to be a pro rider.”
Raised in the small town of Bell Paine, MN; Ryan’s dad, Troy, was a big moto rider and raised his three boys to race bikes, playing the lead role as mechanic. The family runs a contracting company to keep their costly passion afloat with Ryan’s mom acting as Team Manager. For his entire amateur career, his seat time was limited to May to September, thanks to the frigid Minnesota winters; but it only encouraged him to work harder, and his determination paid off when he was handpicked in 2006 by motocross legend Roger DeCoster and groomed for the Makita Suzuki team in one impressive season. Ryan ditched the cold for Haines City, FL where he’s living part-time and training with his team. So far this season he’s the leading rider in the AMA 2008 Supercross Tour points standings, and with a notable work ethic behind him, success is sure to come his way
