Matt Manzari - Wake
 |
It’s a huge responsibility to be at the forefront of a young sport like wakeskating and no one understands that better than Matt Manzari. For the Eustis, FL native it’s about setting a standard that reflects not only his skills as a rider, but also the sport as a whole. “My biggest pet peeve is pushing wakeskate tricks too fast and rushing the sport,” he says. “We should do things the way skateboarders do them … no one should put sequences of new tricks in mags and videos until they’re done the way they should be. It makes our sport as a whole look bad.”
Matt combined his love for skateboarding and wakeboarding after moving to Florida from Schroon Lake, NY. He started wakeskating at the age of 14. Since then, he’s been recognized by Alliance and Wakeboard magazines as a new breed of wakeskate talent to watch. Last January he premiered in FUEL TV’s show “New Pollution” and has feature segments in “Volume Wakeskate Issue 4” and “Transgression” the Gator team video. He was also honored as 2007’s Most Improved Wakeskater. Matt is always working on tricks that have never been done before, but he’ll be the first to tell you that it’s not just about landing them the first time, but every time.
