Lance Coury - Moto
 |
There aren’t many up-and-coming riders who can land a back flip on a 200-plus-pound dirt bike, but Lance Coury is one of them. Lance began racing motocross in 1995 at the age of five, but after ten years and several trophies, he realized it was time to take his training to the next level. “I would go to the local tracks for races and go out during practice and do heel clickers and no footed cans,” he says. Lance knew that taking time to achieve the level of success and big air he wanted meant serious commitment without interferences —not even from school. In order to make those dreams a reality, Lance decided to focus completely on the books, graduating from high school two years early. This decision gave him the time to develop his skills in FMX. Immediately, he began to focus on inverted tricks and it wasn’t long before he saw impressive results.
Lance demonstrates no fear but is adamant about doing so in the safest conditions, including hitting the foam pit during practices before he even dares to attempt a new trick. While he’s currently in production on a movie about his life as an FMXer, his goals for the future include making it to the AST Dew Tour in 2008 and winning a gold medal in the X Games by the time he’s 20.
